We are committed to elevating coach education standards across all UEFA member associations to develop better coaches and, ultimately, better players, raising the overall quality of the game.

Our focus lies in understanding the technical, tactical, and physical requirements for developing and improving performance in elite-level football.

UEFA's performance analysis provision helps all teams, regardless of their infrastructure, offering crucial insights into patterns and trends from across our competitions.

Domestic clubs and national associations across Europe can all access live tactical footage, instant post-match data and reports, all shared on a central platform. The service helps to facilitate technical and tactical innovation and improve the depth of analysis across the continent.

"UEFA's tools are a game-changer for coaches. Having access to these and the different opinions of other coaches or knowledgeable people with experience are fabulous from a coach development perspective."

Technical observers

We work with a wide array of elite coaches and former players to analyse matches across our competitions. Their insights and observations, paired with detailed data, combine to create a powerful overview of UEFA matches and competitions.

Their individual reports form the basis for discussion into each season’s trends and talking points. The observations in these reports are then discussed following each of our competition finals, before a competition technical report is produced.

Technical observers also help to select UEFA awards, from Player of the Match to our seasonal and tournament honours.

"The technical observer role is about analysing, not criticising people, and just to identify what is happening on the pitch. It's important to share our knowledge with other coaches and it is vital that UEFA leads the way here. Coaches need to be updated, always learning and improving, and UEFA's technical analysis helps with this."
